"We're all about having fun and feeling good during play," company president Dale Morrow was quoted as saying in a news release, while going on to point to the shoes' breathable, lightweight qualities. Morrow also pointed out Alias Footwear's "ability to harbor a wide foot and an exaggerated fit and roomy toe box. Our NO break-in period golf shoes facilitate an instant comfort zone for your feet straight out of the box."
We certainly found that to be true. Slipping into a pair of Alias shoes was almost like slipping into an old pair of sneakers - and definitely just as comfortable as slipping into a new pair of sneakers.
The shoes fit great without feeling tight, the tongue is soft on the top of the foot, and they walk great straight from the box - no awkward breaking in period necessary.
The look of our pair was great, too: a simple three-tone blueish gray ("charcoal" is the company's name for this color) with a brushed suede look and feel ... because they are made from suede leather.
Slope Nose: The suede leather Slope Nose is the top-of-the-line model. It features an exaggerated fit style to accommodate a wide range of foot widths, with a cotton mesh interior and sandwich poly mesh tongue. Available color schemes are khaki, charcoal, puddy and black.
Coupe: The Coupe is made from synthetic Nu-buck with mesh and Lycra and is the most breathable of the three models. Available color schemes are khaki, gray, black and navy.
Sedan: Constructed mainly of a synthetic PU Nu-buck, the Sedan has a reinforced toe and other qualities for added durability. The interior is padded for extra comfort. Available color schemes are gray, black and khaki.
- A full-girth sidewall acts as a mudguard to aid in dryness and stability.
- An air-filled heel chamber reduces weight and increases cushioning, while a wider heel ensures stability.
- The EVA-cushioned mid-sole and foot bed gives a firm but comfortable feel with a latex top layer.
- Built-in rubber arch support to the exterior for extra comfort and durability.
- Sole design has a durable rubber tooth pattern and replaceable soft cleats that provided terrific "grip" and control.
- The threads for the replaceable cleats in the sole accept all "small metal" threaded aftermarket cleats.
One more great thing about them: They don't break the bank. The Alias Footwear golf shoes range in price from only $68 to just $76.
