First came oversized, titanium drivers. Then came composite drivers. Then came adjustable-weight drivers. Now comes the Adams Redline RPM 430Q - a driver that combines all the elements.
The 430Q fills out Adams' Redline RPM line of drivers. Like the other Redline RPM woods, the 430Q features "RePositioned Mass" (RPM) technology and what Adams calls "xFace" engineering.
"RePositioned Mass" technology in the RPM 430Q provides 44 grams of discretionary weight, weight that can be repositioned around the clubhead to improve launch conditions and spin rates.
Of that weight, 55-percent is in the form of four screws that fit into "weight ports" around the rear of the clubhead. Two of the screws are 10 grams each, and two are 2 grams each. The screws can be combined in six different configurations, allowing golfers to customize their club's weighting in order to optimize trajectory and ball curvature.
"XFace" engineering is a technique that Adams says results in the expansion of the COR zone across a greater area of the clubface, thus increasing ball speed on both centered and off-center hits.
"It's the first driver to combine three of golf's latest technologies composite crowns, oversized driver heads and movable weights," said Chip Brewer, CEO of Adams Golf, about the Redline RPM 430Q. "The results are a bigger, hotter and more forgiving adjustable weight driver."
The Redline RPM 430Q will be available in golf shops in late February.
Golfers will be able to choose from 8.5-, 9.5- and 10.5-degree models, available in both right and left hand. Multiple shaft options will be available, including Fujikura, Aldila NV or NVS and Grafalloy Pro Launch. Shaft flexes offered are XS, S, R & A and the Golf Pride Tour Velvet is the standard grip.
A torque wrench and trajectory control guide are included with purchase. The Adams Redline RPM 430Q driver carries an MSRP of $449.99.
