A new bag from Nike Golf might help. The Nike Xtreme Lite Golf Bag checks in at just 4.2 pounds, but manages to offer a full array of features.
Among the features of the new Nike bag are:
Nike Xtreme Suspension System: This is a "skeleton," or frame, around the outside of the bag that gives the bag its structure - but without the weight associated with the usual stay-rods inside traditional bags. Plus, Nike says, the suspension system on the Xtreme Lite doubles as a handle for easy lifting of the bag.
Woven Air Technology: We're all familiar with Nike Air technology. Now, it's found in more than just shoes. The double shoulder straps of the Xtreme Lite golf bags incorporate Nike Air pockets for added cushion. (The double strap can be converted to a single strap if desired.)
Flex-Base Phylon Bottom System: Phylon is the material often used in the outsole of Nike sneakers. The Xtreme Lite golf bags incorporate a one-piece flex-base system out of Phylon that includes the traditional foot pedal used to spring the bag's legs when standing. The weight of the clubs in the bag will initiate the extension of the legs when leaned forward. On level ground, the wider Phylon base allows a balanced bag to stand on its own.
Pocket Protection: The Nike Xtreme Lite golf bag includes eight pockets that accommodate all a golfer's needs, including space for a water bottle. A rain hood is included and accommodates all club sizes.
The Nike Xtreme Lite golf bag is available now at golf shops and golf specialty stores with a suggested retail price of $150 in the following colors: Black/Chrome, Atlantic Blue/Silver, Varsity Red/Lt. Graphite, Gun Metal/Black, and Solar Orange/Black.
