KZG Expanding Gemini Line of Drivers

USGA's About-Face Leads to KZG's Decision

The USGA's about-face on KZG's dual-face driver has led KZG to expand its offerings for its Gemini line.

The Gemini driver was the first dual-face driver to gain widespread attention. The original model, the KZG Gemini 355, was introduced in 2003. Gemini drivers are literally two-faced - a second clubface is inside the head, positioned a smidge behind the outer clubface. The vibrations generated when the outer face strikes a ball are captured by the inner face, keeping that energy from dispersing rearward. The extra stability and rigidity afforded by the second face place help create a huge sweet spot.

The USGA originally ruled the KZG Gemini non-conforming; however, all appeal from the KZG, the USGA reversed its decision in time for the PGA Merchandise show this past February.

Now, KZG says it is expanding what is available in its Gemini line, offering consumers more choices for lofts.

Jennifer King, President of KZG, said demand for the Gemini skyrocketed after the USGA's reversal. "We can hardly keep them in stock," she said. "The Gemini will undoubtedly be the best selling driver in the company's history."

KZG introduced the new 12-degree and 14-degree Gemini models at this year's International Network of Golf Spring Conference, held in early June.

Lofts now available for the KZG Gemini are: 9-, 10.5-, 12- and 14-degree models in right-handed; 10.5-degree in left-handed. Clubhead sizes available are 355cc and 395cc in both right and left.
