TaylorMade's Burner lineup is growing with a new driver model, fairway wood and iron set ready for retail display. Here's a thumbnail on each product:

TaylorMade Burner Draw Driver
The TaylorMade Burner has proved a very popular driver model, and now the Draw version is aimed at golfers who need help producing a draw or fighting a slice.

The Burner Draw moves more weight to the heel of the clubhead, which gives the golfers a little boost in squaring the clubface prior to impact.

The Burner Draw also incorporates what TaylorMade calls its "SuperFast" technology - essentially a lightening of the overall club weight, coupled with a lengthening of the shaft, to produce a faster clubhead speed. The RE*AX graphite shaft that comes standard is just 50 grams in weight, and the grip is 8 grams lighter than a standard grip. TaylorMade says the overall club weight is about 20 grams lighter than most other comparable drivers.

The shaft, at 46 inches, is also an inch longer than most standard driver shafts.

The TaylorMade Burner Draw driver has a 460cc, deep-faced head that is longer, heel-to-toe, than the standard Burner driver.

Available lofts are 9.5 and 10.5 degrees. The Burner Draw hits retail stores on Sept. 15 with an MSRP of $360.

TaylorMade Burner TP Fairway Woods
The Burner TP fairway woods are designed more for the better players, carrying TaylorMade's "tour preferred" designation. The Burner TP fairway metals are differentiated from the Burner Ti and Burner Steel by their pear-shaped face and their smaller-footprint sole.

Burner TP fairway woods come with a SuperFast RE*AX TP 65-gram shaft with .335" tip, which combines a high kickpoint with low torque to promote a lower, penetrating trajectory and give more skilled players more control.

The Burner TP fairway wood models are Tour Spoon (13 degrees), Tour 3-wood (15 degrees) and Tour 5-wood (18 degrees). MSRP is $295 per club with graphite shaft or $240 with steel shaft. They are available now at retail.

TaylorMade Burner XD Irons
With the Burner driver and woods so popular, TaylorMade turns its attention to irons. The Burner XD irons utilize many of the same approaches in the chase for more yards.

The Burner XD irons use lighter shafts, the RE*AX SuperFast graphite shafts, to promote faster swing speeds. The design of the clubhead, face and back also work to speed things up by increasing the COR.

The clubhead is stainless steel and the clubface is titanium. The thin titanium faceplate is attached to the oversized body through a process called "lip encasement," a term for mechanically uniting two different materials. On the back of the clubhead is TaylorMade's ubiquitous Inverted Cone Technology (ICT) that expands the sweet spot.

TaylorMade Burner XD irons are available at retail beginning Sept. 30, with an MSRP of $168 per club with graphite shafts (steel shafts are also available, with MSRP $138 per club). The Burner XD irons come in 3-iron through 9-iron, plus pitching wedge, attack wedge, sand wedge and lob wedge. Left-handed versions are also available, minus the lob wedge.
