The newest driver offered by Cobra Golf is the King Cobra 460 SZ model. If you're after distance and forgiveness, this is the Cobra driver for you.

"Using the technological advancements in construction and materials, Cobra engineers were able to develop a 460cc driver with improved distance, accuracy and forgiveness, which are performance attributes desired by golfers of all abilities," said Jeff Harmet, President of Cobra Golf. "The key benefit of the King Cobra 460 SZ driver is that it has the largest face area relative to other 460cc drivers in the market, which promotes increased ball speed, greater forgiveness and Hotter 9 Points across the clubface."

Cobra's SZ Drivers ("SZ" stands for "sweet zone" incorporate a milled rhombus oval face insert, a thin titanium perimeter and what Cobra calls the "dual weighting system." It's the combination of the thicker rhombus-shaped center with the thinner titanium ring that creates the "SZ" of the driver's name.

The dual weighting system consists of a pair of steel inserts placed low and to the rear of the clubhead, lowering the center of gravity. The effect of these technologies, Cobra says, is to create greater responsiveness over a larger area of the clubface.

The King Cobra SZ Driver comes with the Golf Pride Tour Velvet grip. Several lightweight custom graphite shaft options exist. The MSRP on the King Cobra SZ Driver is $370, and they begin shipping on March 15, 2005.
